View photos of the Photos App on the iPad:

  1. Browse through Albums, Events, Faces, Saved Photos, Last Import or Photostream

  2. NEW IN V2: Tap a photo to hide browser

  3. NEW IN V2: Swipe photos to go to the next/previous

  4. Photos can be viewed fullscreen (NEW IN V2)

  5. Display Metadata (EXIF, TIFF, ...)

  6. NEW IN V2: Metadata display can be configured,

  7. NEW IN V2: Metadata can be exported!

Geo-tags of photos on the iPad:

  1. See geo-tagged photos at a glance: a red pin in the left navigation bar

  2. The biggest part of the screen shows the photo‘s location with a pin

  3. The map also features satellite or hybrid view

  4. Use your fingers to zoom or move the map‘s view


  5. To place a geo-tag:

  6. One tap to the left of a photo places a pin in the middle of the current map view - this comes very handy when the map already shows the location of the previous photo

  7. or hold your finger on the map for a second - the pin is placed here

  8. To save the photo with the new geo-tag in the album „Saved Photos“, tap the „Save“ button. You will never change your original photos, it‘s always a copy which will be saved.


  1. Find locations:

  2. Tap on the search bar at the upper right

  3. Enter a city or place, even full addresses will be recognized

  4. PinApp moves the map to the found location

  5. Add bookmarks or use your address book for easy access

View photos stored in iPhoto on the Mac:

  1. Works with iPhoto `11 and iPhoto `09,

  2. NEW IN V2: Works with Aperture 3.5 (not yet with nested folders)

  3. On Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later, Mavericks included, Yosemite being tested

  4. On the same local network (WLAN)

  5. Browse through Albums, Events and Faces

View or set geo-tags on photos in iPhoto or Aperture:
