2.1 beta 6 (14th October 2010)
Nice update for users which prefer to run iRed2 remotes through a web browser!
iRed2 got some new "URLs", which allow to address remotes directly. In general, a remote's URL looks like "http://myMac:4142/remote?uuid=4AFB1E7A-DA8C-4E7D-8119-3D0E1148EDAB". Well, a quite long UUID, isn't it? If you want to find out this UUID, have a look at this screenshot:

You can copy the URL or simply click the Safari icon at right.
Another URL is very useful, too: "http://myMac:4142/remotes" will list all remotes, first all "Online Favorites", followed by all remotes alphabetically:

And, finally, Navigation Actions are working in browser, too!
The size of the remotes as seen in browser depends on the "user agent", i.e. it depends whether the browser runs on iPad, iPhone or Mac. iRed2 tries to be intelligent about this. If you are more intelligent, hehe, you may set the height or the width of the remote's image manually.
Simply add a "&width=1024" or "&height=768" to the URL above, e.g.:
You can also re-order uuid and width, but don't mix '?' and '&':
However, there are some problems with images on iPad. Sometimes images are scaled down by iPad (and probably by iPhone). On iRed's side, it is not possible to force a specific size nor is it possible to know about a resize. Unfortunately the sensitive areas ("the buttons") are not scaled, so you will run into trouble. Use a different width/size parameter until scaling seems to be right.
More bugfixes of beta 6:
- wrong remote size on iPod
- wrong aspect ratio of separate remote windows (for wide remotes)
- crash on iRed 1 import (thx, Wally)
- Navgation actions with popup for easy access
- Console window now respects "only on error" setting

- Cleanup: menu structure simplified, removed Tools menu, updated Windows menu
- Cleanup: some popup menus showed wrong top entry
- Bugfix: deleting a trigger from a remote button removed actions, too
- Bugfix: changes to several settings did not set remote to "dirty document" state
- Feature: Only show Log window on Errors
- Bugfix: subsequent sleep/wakeup cycles did not free ressources and made modules unresonsive in the end
