This guide will show you how to change your Mac's network configuration, to fit the IRTrans' default settings.
The IRTrans falls back to the IP address "192.168.0.32" by default. To let your Mac find the module, you have to change the Mac's address to the same network segment, for example "192.168.0.200".
You will need administrator rights to follow this guide. After you have worked through this guide, you can switch back to your current setting in a snap.
Open System Preferences, then click "Network". This screenshot shows my setup on a MacBook, which is currently running only Airport:

Next step is to "Edit Locations...", accessible from the popup menu as shown above.
In the next panel, add a new location with "+", then give it a name, for example "IRTrans LAN 192":

Click "Done", and a new location with default settings appears. It will look different on your machine, of course:

For the next steps we only need the "Ethernet" interface, so please select every other "service" (Airport, Bluetooth, ...), and click "-" to remove the respective interface from this network location.
This is the interface list after massive clean-up:

Now change the menu "Configure:" from "Using DHCP" to "Manually":

The manual setting needs some configuration:

Change the IP Address to 192.168.0.200 and the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0, then click "Apply".
This screenshot shows the applied network location, ready to be used:

Now connect the IRTrans to the ethernet port of your Mac directly, plug in the power supply of the IRTrans and wait for about 30 seconds, while the IRTrans is looking for a DHCP server.
Now, open Safari and enter the IRTrans' address: http://192.168.0.32. If everything works fine, you see the login page of the IRTrans. Enter username "admin" and password "irtrans", and your are "in":

If you do not see the modules webserver as shown above, the module has possibly a wrong configuration already. Now the last resort is to reset the module as described in the PDF which comes with the module. In short:
To do that the IRTrans has to be opened (first disconnect the power supply!). Then a jumper has to be installed in the rightmost position of the 6-way jumper line next to the status LED. Now the module can be powered up again. After the module booted (Green-Red blinking LED) the power supply and the jumper can be removed again and the case of the module can be closed. Now the configuration including the password has been reset to the factory defaults described in this manual.
Go to the "IP Settings" page, then uncheck "Use DHCP", then enter an "IP Address" and "Subnetmask" which fits into your "normal" network settings.
Please note that after clicking "Store Configuration" the module will get unresponsive, because the new network settings of the module no longer allows for a connection. so, double-check your IP settings!

Now it's time to go back to your old network location. Simply use the popup of the System Preferences' Network pane, again, then "Apply":

Now the IRTrans is accessible with it's new IP address.
With iRed2 you can speed up recognition of modules when you enter the (static!) IP address into the Preferences panel:
