Has there been any interest in breaking the project into a suite of applications? There are several tools that iRed does not seem to support, (set bus ID, firmware update, load IR database.) Would it be easier to build some small tools [for Mac OS] that would only be used for initial setup and occasional use?
If I have missed any of these functions that are available on the Mac OS please advise.
irserver/irclient coming
bluesincenew,
I am considering to release the irserver/irclient combo for Mac OS X, but this set will only allow for some configurations. Firmware update or IR database manipulation will not be possible. Please ask Marcus@irtrans.com if he would implement this stuff, I have no source code for that nor do I want to dive too deep into that stuff. I assume it will take me some time to port these tools to Mac OS X and I won't get paid for my work. The demand has been very, very low so far.
irserver/irclient coming - when?
Hai!
I would be more than interested to have a working combination of the two IRTrans terminal tools for what I need; and more sooner than later. I built my Mac mini into a larger enclosing (OrigenAE S14V) and ever since, I am trying to get the VFD and the remote working under OSX. I do not actually need to transmit any IR. iRed on OSX 10.5 does not recognize the units, but Linux does with the original IRTrans tools.
Any skills I have could support in beta testing - yes, I volunteer! ;-)
Rgds
