ONE CAVEAT: iRed2 will crash, if debug mode is switched on. Well, how to switch off this mode when the app crashes? You'll need the Terminal for that and this commandline does the job:
I have found an issue with snow leopard. It seems that Ired2 and iredlite do not recognise the apple remote anymore. I guess that too has been rewritten to 64-bits and the apple remote library does not work anymore.
i'm afraid i'm not enough of a programmer to see what the issue is.
You're right, Apple has changed something under the hood and Apple Remote support does not work like before. I must admit, I am not a lowlevel programmer, too, and I hope that some of the nice guys who posted the open source solution before will jump in and fix the code. I know that some guys already fixed it, but they seem to not want to share their knowledge.
