trouble with triggers

Hi,

Is there a trick to get the triggers to work from an apple remote?  I cant get the demo triggers to work (where it speaks the command).   When I double click the trigger listing, I can get it to speak the command.  I can see the triggers come up in the debug logging window, and I can the see the lights flash on my usb irtrans receiver.  I have the 2.2.7 drivers installed, and I am on os x 10.5.8.  I've also tried setting up triggers from an apple remote as IR Codes as well, and failed similarly.  Am I missing something obvious to get them to work?

Built-in IR receiver or IRTrans?

In general, the Apple Remote triggers only work with the built-in Apple IR receiver. This device has to be present - and has to be activated in the device list on iRed's main window.

 

If you have no IR recevier built-in, ou can mimic that with the IRTrans, but then these are ordinary IR triggers. So, create a trigger in the
"Trigger/IR Codes" section using one of the learbed IR codes of the Apple Remote.

Is your Apple Remote working with other apps, like Front Row?

 Hi, 

Many months later, I wanted to say thanks for your response.  I am just now picking this project back up.  

Thanks to your advice, I can now get it to work now.  I had thought I could use the pre-installed ones via the usb receiver.  Now I have entered in codes for the apple remote as I would any other remote control trigger, and it's working.
