LAN (Ethernet) modules, LAN Controller

Welcome!

Please note that there are several places where you can find information on the IRTrans LAN modules:

Of course, there are some manual and FAQ pages on tinbert.com, too:

If you find some questions not answered yet, please post into this forum. Updates to the online manual will follow...

Using iRed to send commands from IRTrans Local Database?

 Hi,

Suspect this is a feature request - but perhaps I'm wrong.

In my environment I have one IRTrans Lan Controller XL which has IR emitters for all the equipment in my equipment cabinet (blu-ray player, cable box, MacMini, eyeTV, etc.) plus hard wired connections to some X10 equipment (i.e. I plan to be able to turn lights on and off from iRed).

I then have 3 IRTrans PoE Ethernet boxes around the house near other devices - Velux Skylights, TVs, etc.

I have one Mac in the Kitchen which I am running iRed2 on, an iPhone and and and iPod Touch, both running iRedTouch.

My question is I'd like to only learn and store all the IR codes once in the database in the IRTrans Lan Controller XL and then trigger those codes from iRed2 or iRedTouch.    Right now I have to "learn" each IR code for each "instance" of iRed.

I know right now to learn and store all the codes in the local IRTrans Lan Controller database I'd have to use the PC or Linux software from IRtrans (would be great if we could do that from iRed too)

But my question is can one send a command previously stored in the local IRTrans Lan Controller database from iRed1, iRed2 or iRedTouch?  Can this be done via AppleScript?

Thanks

Thanks für euere hilfe!
LG Benny
