It requires Mac OS X or Mac OS X Server, at least version 10.3.9. (Not tested with older versions.
You may use the legacy version 1.1.3 for Mac OS X 10.2 from here: Micon-1.1.3.dmg.gz )
Download format
Micon is distributed as an zipped image (Micon.dmg.zip). After several tests with other formats I found this to be the best. In most cases clicking on one link above will download a file, and after some automatic steps present a folder window with all Micon components.
When using Mozilla please open the context menu on the download link, choose 'Save Link Target As...', then after downloading 'launch' the bin or gz archive file.
Some problems may occur, however, depending on your browser and settings:
Clicking on the link will present unreadable binary content in the browser window:
Please stop the download, go back to the Download page, Control-Click on the link and choose 'Download to Disk' or a similar command. You will then have to double-click the downloaded file for further installation.
You got the file, but nothing else happens?
Double-click the bin file to got it decoded with StuffIt Expander, which is part of Mac OS X. Maybe you have to 'Show Info' in Finder and choose 'Open with Application', to specify Stuffit Expander (from /Applications/Utilities folder) first.
Several applications (StuffIt, DiskCopy) pop up and disappear but you see no Micon folder?
Maybe everything went fine, but the browser window is in the way. Please 'hide' the browser.
Disk Copy starts, works and quits, but nothing else happens?
The disk image may have not opened automatically. Please open a new finder window, click the 'Computer' icon and find a white icon named Micon then. Alternate-Doubleclick this icon and the image will open in a new folder window.
